Chris Anton, BSW, MSW, RSW

Founder & Principal Clinician

I am a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in the field of mental health counselling. Currently, I am working as a social worker within an inter-professional team, providing comprehensive assessments and individual and group therapy.

I am proficient in evidence-based and best-practice counselling methods, such as solution-focused, narrative therapy, CBT, DBT, and ACT. I've had the privilege of working with esteemed organizations like Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities, LifeWorks, and Children’s Aid Society, where I've gained extensive experience in counselling clients dealing with mental health issues, suicidal ideations, self-harm, substance abuse, and families navigating separation, divorce, and grief.

In my current role, I am part of a Complex Care and Recovery Program, where I work with people with severe and persistent mental illness, predominantly Schizophrenia and Concurrent Disorders. Our program is client-centered and based on the principles of recovery. I actively participate in the assessment and treatment process, engaging clients in a proactive discharge planning process. My role involves conducting psychosocial-based assessments, making referrals for financial support, and providing supportive counselling to clients, their families, and caregivers from diverse backgrounds. I also address housing, income, and discharge needs, formulate treatment plans, complete standardized assessments, monitor clients' responses to therapeutic interventions, and communicate with clients' social and community networks.

I have a deep understanding of the community resources available in and around the GTA, including health, counselling, and employment programs and services. My broad academic background spans social work, family and youth psychology, developmental psychology, and criminal justice.

I look forward to the positive impact I can make in our clients' lives.
